NTNU Industrial Economics and Technology Management Economics IØ8303 Energy Markets Autumn 10

The course discusses different models for analysis of energy markets and how energy companies adjust to these. Emphasis is put on the relationship between technical and economic features in natural gas and electricity markets. The course focuses on how market-driven optimization of the value chains and production resources of energy companies can be modelled and how energy markets work and form prices. Uncertainty in market prices and resource availability is handled with a basis in financial theory and in methods of operations research.
